The Trek-
From high traverses along craggy crests, camping at 5 fishable lakes,
to forest walks near churning rivers, to meadowland tours, this section
accesses
a variety of Cascades backcountry, making for a classic, weeklong backpack.
We head
south from Stevens Pass along this popular section of the Pacific
Crest Trail towards our destination at Snoqualmie Pass. Overall, this
section of the PCT will challenge your legs, lift your spirits and probably
confirm
your reasons for backpacking.
This trek will introduce younger scouts (beginning at age 13) to our
exciting High Adventure program. We include Leave No Trace camping
and cooking,
map,
compass and GPS instruction, some cross country hiking, problem solving,
exploration, merit badge work, Ranger Award experience, patrol building,
individual recognition and excitement. This specialized
experience will prepare young trekkers to return to our High Adventure
Base for even greater challenges. Let’s hike!
Suggested physical
training before the trek: Cardio-vascular exercise such as hiking
with a loaded pack, biking, running and weight training.
