-Sample Itinerary-
Sunday - Bus pick up at SeaTac airport at 12 noon /or arrive at Camp Sheppard High Adventure Base by 1PM. Introductions, trek orientation, equipment check. Instruction: Dressing for the mountains and pack packing. Gear and food issue. 2.5-hour bus ride to Hope Lk. trailhead. Elev. 3100 feet. Group picture, Hike 1.6 miles up to Hope Lk. Camp, (4400’). Instruction: Camp site selection and tarp pitching, Dinner. Instruction: Stove use and care, basic cooking, water treatment and illness, sanitation and hygiene, bear camping techniques, body comfort control, hypothermia and emergency procedures. Free time.

Monday -9.7 mi. Breakfast, break camp, hike past Trap Lk. then over to Glacier Lk. for lunch (4800’).
Instruction: Energy conservation, plant and animal identification and foot care. Continue up over Pieper Pass (6000’) then down to Deception Lakes camp. Make camp, free time, dinner. Instruction: Food planning, wilderness ethics, land use polices, high adventure history, Leave No Trace, land use policies and daily travel planning. Free time.

Tuesday –12.2 mi. Hike through Deception Pass ( 4500’) then past Cathedral Rock and over Cathedral Pass (5600’) down to Deep Lk. camp (4385’). Instruction: Map reading, compass and GPS use, route finding/ travel techniques and stream crossing, Lunch. Make camp. Instruction; problem solving. Free time, Dinner. Instruction; Nutrition and hydration. Free time

Wednesday - 8.1 mi. Hike down and around to Waptus Lk. camp (3000’). Lunch, make camp. Service project. Instruction; Geology, mountain ecosystems/ habitats, weather, lighting and avalanche. Dinner and free time.

Thursday - 15.3 mi. Hike above Escondido Lk., down across Lemah Cr., Lunch. Continue on up to Spectacle Lk. camp(4300’). Make camp. Free time, Dinner and more free time.

Friday - 11.2 mi. Hike past Park Lakes, Chikamin Pk., Huckleberry Mt and Joe Lk., Lunch. Continue past Alaska Mt., Alaska Lk. and Ridge Lk. to Gravel Lk. camp (5300’). Make camp, dinner and free time.

Saturday - 7.3 mi. Hike past Kendall Pk., lunch. Begin last descent to Snoqualmie Pass trailhead. Group
picture, meet bus for 1.5 hr. ride back to Sheppard Base. Clean up, turn in gear, BBQ Dinner.
Recognition ceremony, local trekkers leave for home, free time. Guests are invited to our 5 PM all-you-can- eat chicken BBQ and awards ceremony for $5 per person. They should inform Base in advance of arrival please.

Sunday - Early breakfast, bus shuttle to Sea-Tac airport by 9AM.
