The Trek-
This is one of our all time favorite treks because it’s the most exciting and spectacular section of the Pacific Crest Trail in the state. We venture north from Walupt Lake into the majestic Goat Rocks Wilderness to camp near high alpine lakes, savor grand meadows and explore lofty views. This section of the trail is the second highest point of the PCT in the state and a short side trail leads to the summit of Old Snowy Mt. for amazing views.

This trek will introduce younger scouts, beginning at age 13, to our exciting High Adventure program. We include Leave
No Trace camping and cooking, map, compass and GPS instruction, some cross country hiking, problem solving, exploration, merit badge work, Ranger Award experience, patrol building, individual recognition and excitement. This specialized experience will prepare young trekkers to return to our High Adventure Base for even greater challenges. Let’s hike!

Suggested physical training before the trek: Cardio-vascular exercise such as hiking with a loaded pack, biking, running and weight training.
