Do you remember those mornings on the Ingraham Glacier when the zinc oxide was stiff as dry plaster, your nose was burnt to a red hue rivaling a new Kelty pack and somehow you needed to unite the two before the sun rose? Do you remember waking up to the drumming of rain on the tarp 8 inches above your nose for the fourth morning in a row with a dozen wet 12 year olds whining about the 10 miles through wet brush that needed to be traversed that day? Do you remember lying in collapsed tents on Meany Crest in a driving rain with every piece of metal lying 100ft away while a lightning storm electrified your ensolite pad as it passed directly overhead?
If you do, you were probably on Camp Sheppard staff. We are in the process of trying to find everyone that served on staff. Please email us at ccaley@toledo.k12.wa.us and let us know where you are and what you've been up to. Talk of a reunion climb of Rainier in July of 2004 is in the air and we would like you to be there with us.
