Were you ever on a Camp Sheppard hike or climb during the summers of 1965-1979?

If so, please email Chuck Caley (staff from 1969-1976) at ccaley@toledo.k12.wa.us. Max Eckenberg, Camp Ranger from 1964 to 1984 is putting together his memoirs and would love to hear from you and your stories of camp.

Whether it was a Greenwater Basin hike, a 50 miler between Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass , a climb of pre-eruption Mt. St. Helens or a summit ascent of Rainier with a football game in the crater bowl, we would love to hear from you.

Don't have time to write your story? Just send a cryptic email letting us know you exist. Maybe someday in the future you'll find time to tell more, or you might read about a friend who was on the hike with you on this site.

30 years ago there were fewer people in the Puget Sound basin and in the mountains. Camp Sheppard took groups of up to 35 kids into the woods and took pride in not leaving a trace of their passing. Because of the strict restrictions on party size the same program could not run today. If you were on one of these "mega" group trips, please contact us. We would love to know where you went, who went with you and your memories of the trip.
