Be
sure to follow all the instructions. Incomplete applications will
not pass the
pre-screening stage of the scholarship review process. To receive this
scholarship award, you must fully complete the Eckenburg Merit Scholarship
Award Application,
meet all four requirements of the application, pass the pre-screening stage,
an interview at Camp Sheppard and be selected by the Board of Directors.

1. Awards of up to
$25,000 will be made for the Fall of 2008 - Spring of 2009 academic
year. Payment of the Scholarship will be distributed directly
to the school and in $2,500 increments for each respective semester. An
applicant meeting the requirements may re-apply for up to three more additional
years.
2. Eckenburg Merit Scholarship recipients must be accepted by an accredited
institution for enrollment as a full time student. A request may be made to
the Scholarship Board to apply this scholarship to a recognized trade school
leading to a professional certification.
3. Scholarship funds must be used for tuition, fees related to degreed course
work, books, or housing (in that order) at any accredited institution of higher
learning for the Fall of 2008 and Spring of 2009 semesters. Funds used for
housing are fully taxable. Funds will be paid directly to the institution or
recognized trade school leading to a professional certification. All invoices
and requests are subject to review and approval. Scholarships are void if not
used for the stated purposes or in the allotted time frame.
4. The Directors of the Max Eckenburg Trust have the right to change or modify
this program in any manner, effective immediately and without notice.
5. The Max Eckenburg Trust makes Eckenburg Scholarship Awards as non-taxable
according to the Internal Revenue Code. If they are deemed taxable by this
entity, all taxes due are the responsibility of the recipient, including, but
not limited to: FICA, local, State and Federal taxes.
6. Applicants must be age 30 or under by September 12, 2008 to be eligible
to apply.
