We start by camping in the Tuolumne Meadows campground Friday night, July 6th, as seen at the beginning scene. We drive west a mile or so to the Cathedral Peak trail head and begin our southward trek. I think the route is about 40 miles along the range with a 8 mile exit to the Mammoth Mountain area. There is a shuttle bus that runs from Mammoth Mtn. back to the park to get back to our cars.
