Welcome to Llama Marketplace
Linda & her llamas

Llama Marketplace was born out of frustration. In 1989 my husband, Steve and I had decided to raise llamas. We had seen llamas on display 2 years earlier at the Western Washington Fair. This was the only place we had ever seen llamas and we had no idea where to find some to buy. I looked in the yellow pages under llamas...nothing. I looked under livestock...nothing. I thought geez, how can we find someone to sell us llamas? We did see an ad in the Seattle Times for a llama auction and purchased our first females.
I didn't realize it at the time, but my frustration and desire to help others would come together in a wonderful way.
On one of my trips to the feed store, I came across an issue of Horse Trader. I thought, what a wonderful idea! I wonder why no one is doing this for llamas? I still had no inkling of my destiny.
A year later my daughter, Brenda graduated from computer college and my first question was: "Can you produce a magazine like Horse Trader on a computer"? When her answer was "yes", my mind began to imagine the possibilities.
My daughter and I would be in business together. My beautiful granddaughter, Jessica would not have to be raised in daycare, by strangers, as my kids were. Not only would we be able to strengthen our family but, we would be able to help llama owners and llama buyers find each other by putting Llama Marketplace in the feed stores.
Now, anyone interested in finding llamas can look in the nearest feed store.

The heart of Llama Marketplace is selling off the farm in an atmosphere YOU control. I believe selling off the farm is THE best way to sell llamas. You control the price, you control who buys and where your animals are going or NOT going. I believe that is everyone's right and responsibility.
The Llama Marketplace was distributed in California, Oregon, Washington and BC. As of January, 1998, we are now distributing throughout the US. We provide affordable advertising targeted toward bringing NEW llama people into the community. That is why we are in the feed stores, to introduce llamas to the general public and let them know where they can buy some and where they can get information about them. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the Llama Marketplace, e-mail us your full name, address and zipcode to: mailto:llamas@toledotel.com
I always stress the associations a support for new llama owners. One of the best things about owning llamas is getting to know llama owners. If you don't participate you are missing out on one of the most rewarding aspects of owning the critters.
The purpose of our Web Site is to introduce ourselves to those of you who don't know us, provide information to the public about llamas, and maybe even teach you some new tricks & tips for advertising your Llamas.
We hope you enjoy your visit, and if there are any special areas of advertising you are interested in receiving help, let me know so that we can address some of those issues on our site. Please come back soon as we add new material to help sharpen your marketing skills.
