First of all, you should know WHY you are advertising. The obvious of course is to sell llamas. But, there is much more you should know about advertising.
ADVERTISE YOUR FARM
It's true. People do trust a name they know. Advertise your farm to build a name for your farm and yourself. Potential customers feel more secure buying a name brand, Let everyone know you are confident of your offspring. Be proud to display your offspring and promote your guarantee.
ADVERTISE YOUR STUD
Even if you don't do outside breedings, advertise your stud. Your stud's name should be familiar to anyone contemplating purchasing his offspring. Advertising your herdsire increases the demand, therefore the value of his offspring.
KEEP ADVERTISING
Even if you don't get immediate results, keep advertising. You are building name recognition, reputation and trust. Remember, even Disneyland continues to advertise! With all the new llama owners joining us, you need to keep advertising. You have new offspring every year and you should get their names out there to maintain your spot in the public eye.

How to Advertise With Llama Marketplace

Advertising with Llama Marketplace is easy and affordable. There is no charge to set up your display ad. Send us your photos, business card or artwork and what you want to say and we will do the rest.

WHAT DO I SAY?

Your headline should grab the reader's attention. The text should hold their interest. While writing the text for your ad make sure you let the reader know how calling you will benefit THEM. If you don't give them a reason to call, they won't.

WRITING A GOOD HEADLINE

Make your advertisement seem like a news story. Offer information of value or a free item for a response.

There are certain words that grab attention and readers want to read on. Begin your headline with one of these words:

  • INTRODUCING
  • ANNOUNCING
  • NEW
  • NOW
  • AT LAST
  • FEATURING
  • WHY
  • HOW
  • WHICH
  • WANTED
  • IF
  • THIS
  • WHO ELSE
  • BECAUSE
  • ADVICE TO

Make your advertisement seem like a news story. Offer information of value or a free item for a response.

APPEAL TO BASIC HUMAN DRIVES

There are certain drives we all have in common as humans. There are only a few reasons we purchase everything we buy. Here are some of them:

  • Make more money
  • Save money
  • Security
  • Prestige
  • Enjoyment
  • Easier work (more leisure time)
  • Comfort
  • Owning the latest thing

PHOTOS

Send your BEST photos. If you don't have a really good photo, don't use any at all. You do want to make a GOOD impression, don't you? A really good photo goes a long way in getting people's attention. Even if they don't call you about that particular llama, they will remember you have great looking llamas. Your ad will also look polished with a professional looking picture. It speaks volumes on how you do things.

MORE INFORMATION

If you would like more information on how to design effective advertising, check your local library or local community college. The Internet, of course is loaded with information.

I DON'T HAVE TIME TO ADVERTISE

If you really don't have the time or the interest in putting together an ad yourself, check in the yellow pages of your phone book for a graphic artist. For a fee they will develop an ad you can be happy with. Once you have an ad you like, stick with it for at least a year. Carry the same theme through all of your advertisements. You will sometimes get a response from an ad you ran years ago. The customer didn't need what you had at the time, but will remember you when his circumstances change.
